The swim at Gajahrejo is the river mouth, where fresh water meets the sea. Gazebos run along the bank. The beach sits beside Bajulmati, on the south road.
Swim in the estuary, sit in a gazebo, and camp. Entry Rp10.000. Parking: motorcycle Rp5.000, car Rp10.000, bus Rp20.000. The list marks it open 24 hours. From the center of Malang it is 64 km, about 2 – 2.5 hours. Best time on this list: Dry season (June–September). Address: Village Gajahrejo, District Gedangan, Regency Malang, East Java.
This list marks swimming as allowed. Kompas, in 2019, advised against it because the beach stones are sharp. If you get in, use the river mouth and keep off the rock line. Bajulmati, next door, is marked no for swimming.
