Watu is stone and lepek is a small flat saucer. A travel writeup describes a coral slab about 20 metres long and 6 metres wide running into the sea at Gajahrejo, with wind caves in the cliff. The usual walk passes Batu Bengkung and then continues on foot for about 20 minutes.
Walk the slab when the tide is low and the rock is dry, then camp back from the spray. Entry Rp10.000. Parking: motorcycle Rp5.000, car Rp10.000. The list marks it open 24 hours. From the center of Malang it is 61 km, about 1.5 – 2 hours. Best time on this list: Dry season (May–September) or sunset. Address: Village Gajahrejo, District Gedangan, Regency Malang, East Java.
Do not swim. The south swell hits the slab, and the rock edge will cut you. Midday to evening is the worse window.
